Trading Depot Overview - My experiences from the last trading week
Depot Review
The last trading week was pretty rough in the portfolio. Including all book gains and losses, the portfolio performance fell by a whopping 3.95 percentage points. Although not an excessive number of positions were taken, the long orientation in the portfolio had an impact due to the negative market sentiment.
Trades executed
In the last trading week, two positions were sold and two new ones were bought. The long position on the DAX, which had a very good start, was stopped out at the purchase price. Over the course of the week, I have already reduced the risk of the position to zero and adjusted the stop loss to the purchase price. Due to the severe market fluctuations, the long position on Eli Lilly was also stopped out - this resulted in a loss of 1% of the portfolio volume.
The new positions, a long position on Deutsche Wohnen and DWS, were taken up. However, not very close to market activity, so I can tolerate new volatility quite well.
Planned procedure
I think it's definitely time to look for short positions. For this I'm focusing on Black Hills, Volkswagen and PG&E. I'm also aiming for a short position on the Dow Jones Index if it recovers a little. Overall, I'll be making my stop loss adjustments on the long positions this week. I fear we're facing a trend change that will last several months.
