Trading Depot Overview - My experiences from the last trading week 30.06.2024
Depot Review
Last week there were a few transactions again. I reduced my long bias in the portfolio and increasingly opted for a short bias. Based on all book profits and losses, the trading week ended negatively. Compared to the previous week, the portfolio performance fell from 40.10% to 37.84%. That is a whopping 2.26% and is a disproportionate performance movement in comparison.
Trades executed
In fact, I executed a few trades last week to prepare for the possible upcoming correction in the stock markets. During such phases, I like to use a longer time horizon in the trading setups so as not to be too close to the volatile market events.
I sold 3 long positions, including the positions on Intuitive Surgical and Colgate-Palmolive early at a profit, while Church & Dwight closed at a loss with a trailing stop loss.
I also opened short positions, with a longer planned holding period of around 60 days, on the DAX, the Nasdaq100 and on the shares of Cognizant Tech. Solutions.
Planned procedure
I think I'm in a very good position at the moment. As mentioned in the last posts, I expect stock market prices to fall sooner or later rather than rise. I've positioned myself accordingly. In the following week, I don't want to position myself disproportionately, but rather observe the market conditions and analyze whether the first clear signs of correction are actually visible. If that's the case, I'll act with stop loss increases in the index short trades in order to reduce the risk in the portfolio again somewhat.
