Waste Management is active in waste management. Its business areas include Solid Waste Collection, Recycling, Landfill and Environmental Services. In the Solid Waste Collection segment, the company offers the collection and transportation of non-hazardous solids and hazardous waste for municipal, commercial, industrial and private customers. The Recycling segment includes services for the collection, sorting, processing and marketing of recyclable materials. Waste Management operates its own recycling plants to process materials such as paper, cardboard, metals and plastics. In the Landfill segment, the company manages landfills for the disposal of solid waste, where it also generates energy from landfill gas. Environmental Services offers customers solutions for site cleanup, reclamation and other environmental services.

Fundamental data

Although the world is trying to be more climate efficient and produce less waste, packaging and plastic, Waste Management's profits, sales and margins have been rising significantly and consistently for over 20 years. No wonder, in addition to cost efficiency, which the company naturally also implements through price increases and cost reductions, the company generates over 90 percent of its total sales within the USA. We know the country's attitude to this - in contrast to the EU, they place very little emphasis on reduced waste management.

Chart technical outlook

The chart also impresses with bullish ambitions. The price of Waste Management's share is currently breaking out to a new all-time high. The stock could head for another medium-term target of USD 255. However, the current signal situation needs to be examined very closely, as the stock has already performed very strongly and the indicators are already diverging. It is quite possible that the stock will take a detour that is accompanied by a previous correction. However, I am keeping a close eye on this profitable long opportunity.
